Dublin North West Area Partnership works with key organisations to enhance and develop social, economic and environmental aspects of the area with a specific focus on those areas and communities that continue to experience poverty and disadvantage.
One example of how we achieve this is the recently opened Green View Community Garden in Finglas South. Working with Dublin City Council Dublin North West Area Partnership has brought the community together with key stakeholders to reclaim a disused piece of waste ground and turn it into a valuable community asset.
In addition to funding secured under the Local and Community Development Programme Dublin North West Area Partnership also assigned a small team of men and women from the Tús Community Work Placement Programme to help with the physical development of the site and its Community Liaison Officer to oversee the project and work with the local community.
In undertaking projects such as this Dublin North West Area Partnership is helping those most distant from the labour market develop their skills and capacity while also bringing added benefit to the wider community.
Dublin North West Area Partnership is open to exploring new opportunities with local organisations that can enhance the wider community and provide opportunities for those most at risk of poverty and social exclusion.
