Since 2016, Dublin North West Area Partnership has hosted annual Apprenticeship Fairs during European Vocational Skills week.  The fairs aim to create awareness of apprenticeship opportunities and the expansion of apprenticeship options into non traditional areas. Attendees have the chance to meet with apprentices, employers and educational organisations. Local schools, training centres and Youthreaches are visited prior to the event to explain the apprenticeship process and the fairs are also attended by jobseekers working with DNWAP and The Ballymun Job Centre Local Employment Service.

The fairs recognise the opportunities apprenticeships offer in our recovering economy as well as the new apprenticeships on offer. There are now 34 apprenticeships on offer with a further 23 in development in diverse industries such as Finance and Hospitality in addition to the traditional areas of Construction, Electrical and Engineering . Areas in development include IT, Logistics and Retail. More information can be found on apprenticeship.ie. The 2017 Fairs attracted exhibitors form a range of sectors hoping to attract potential apprentices and promote apprenticeship as a viable career path. Find out what Exhibitors and Employers  thought about the fair by viewing the video below.
