Leaving Employment to Start a Business?

If you are in employment or have recently left employment and are eligible for Job Seekers Benefit (for eligibility criteria, see HERE) then the you might be eligible for the Short Term Enterprise Allowance (S.T.E.A.)

Similar to the B.T.W.E.A. which was mentioned in a previous post, the S.T.E.A. is a Social Welfare scheme to aid those who are looking to move into self-employment. If your application is approved, your Social Welfare payment is paid to your bank account for the duration that you have left on Job Seekers Benefit.  If you would like more information on this scheme then contact your local Partnership’s Enterprise department, or to see the S.T.E.A. eligibility criteria click HERE.
